Rock the winter bite with the blade bait

When the last leaves have fallen off the trees and many people bundle up under blankets in the warmth of their home, Pro angler Skylar Hamilton is hitting the lake to use one of his favorite baits — the blade bait. A slender piece of metal which was introduced to the fishing world in the 1950s, the blade bait has been a staple of wintertime fishing for Hamilton since he was a teenager, when Ron Salyer, a Douglas Lake local, convinced Hamilton to join him on one of the coldest days of the year.
