BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — B.A.S.S. announced today that the 2026 Newport Bassmaster Kayak Championship presented by Native Watercraft has been rescheduled for Oct. 15-17, 2026, on Lake Murray in Columbia, South Carolina.
The championship will remain at its previously announced location, with only the event dates changing.
The move to October is designed to create greater opportunities for public engagement on-site while increasing the championship’s visibility and coverage on Bassmaster.com. The new dates will allow B.A.S.S. to further showcase the competitors, competition and growing kayak fishing community while providing fans additional opportunities to follow the action.
Lake Murray will serve as the backdrop for the nation’s top kayak anglers as they compete for one of the sport’s most prestigious titles. The championship brings together qualified anglers from across the country for three days of competition.
