2017 Skeeter Owners’ Tournament Draws Record Number of Attendees

KILGORE, Texas – The annual Skeeter Owner’s Bass Tournament held in Lake Fork, Texas, recently concluded with yet another record attendance of 2,350 anglers and 1,192 Skeeter boats in attendance

This annual family event continues to grow in popularity and has truly become an iconic event for both the Yamaha and Skeeter brands.

The winner of this year’s event, David Laine from Horseshoe Bay, Texas, took home the grand prize of a brand new Skeeter FX 20 equipped with a Yamaha 250 SHO® for his catch of 9.36 pounds, and Marty Thomas from Milsap, Texas, took home the second big ticket prize of a brand new Viking® Side-by-Side.

“We couldn’t be happier with the response to our annual owners’ tournament,” said Jeff Stone, Sr. Vice President/General Manager of Skeeter Boats’ Kilgore, Texas, factory and corporate headquarters. “Our staff conducted over 340 demo rides and also managed to cook over 2,200 pounds of brisket truly making this a Skeeter and Yamaha family event.”

“This is our 24th year in hosting the Skeeter Owners’ tournament, and every year we’ve increased growth participation from vendors, boat owners and attendees,” said JoAnne O’Bryant, Sr. Marketing Projects Manager. “This event is our way of thanking all Skeeter boat owners, past, present and future, who helped get us to where we are today and we couldn’t be more excited for the 25th anniversary in 2018!”
