WHAT IS IT?
Savage Gear 3D Bluegill Line Thru Swimbait
WHAT SETS IT APART?
The 6-inch Savage Gear 3D Bluegill Line Thru Swimbait was designed to offer rigging options. With top and bottom hook rigging options, the bait allows anglers to vary their presentation style to accommodate various structure, cover and fish behavior. With the bottom hook option, the bait’s hook release system holds the feathered treble snug within the belly slot but easily releases it on the hook set. This helps ensure hook penetration, while reducing the chance of fish loss. Available in female bluegill, male bluegill, tilapia and crappie colors.
HOW DO I USE IT?
Savage gear went all-in for the lifelike mimicry with the new 3D Bluegill Line Thru Swimbait. Designed to imitate the realistic movements of a struggling panfish, the bait’s multiple joints (mid-body and tail) create that deal-closing swimming action at any retrieve speed. Complementing the bait’s realistic movement, Savage Gear gave the new swimbaits incredibly convincing exteriors — not surprising given the four photo-realistic color patterns based on the real thing.

ANGLER’S INSIGHT:
The interaction between bass and bluegill may be one of nature’s most violently adversarial relationships. When bass are spawning, these persistent panfish pose a constant nest-raiding threat. The harassment doesn’t end after the bass spawn, as fry-guarding males must constantly keep watch for baby gobbling ‘gills. Bass get their paybacks, of course, during the bluegill spawn, when lurking wolf packs pick off distracted bluegill at every opportunity. All this to say, an ultra-realistic bluegill imitator makes for an easy sell to a fish genetically programmed to see this form and choose violence.
