WHAT IS IT?

Frogg Toggs Hydro Grip Shoe

WHAT SETS IT APART?

Built with tournament fishermen in mind, the new Frogg Toggs Hydro Grip Shoe (available online Feb. 15, in stores March 1) includes a nonslip, nonmarking gum outsole that fits the boating environment well. The reliable traction and firm footing serve anglers’ safety and efficiency, whether they’re stepping aboard, strolling a dock or traversing uneven shorelines. Frogg Toggs also adds a cushioned athletic midsole for lateral stability and vertical support, while a slightly raised heel promotes effective posture and balance.

HOW DO I USE IT?

Don’t worry about the occasional rain or splashes, the Hydro-Grip is made with quick-drying mesh that keeps the shoe light and breathable. There’s also an antimicrobial treatment to help prevent odors and stave off bacterial growth, while the 360-degree neoprene comfort collar with looped pull tab provides easy slip-on/slip-off access. When travel takes you through or over damage-prone areas, the Frogg Toggs design team has worked in some peace of mind with a durable poly toe and heel cap and lace reinforcements for durability and impact resistance. Available in sizes 7 to 13 with three colorways.

ANGLER’S INSIGHT:

Recent years have seen greater mainstream acceptance of professional fishermen as athletes. Anyone who’s endured a day of balancing on the bow through a Great Lakes bad hair day, spent a couple of hours slinging giant swimbaits or wrestled day makers out of thick mats can attest to the sport’s serious physical demands. Equipping yourself for the challenge starts from the deck/ground up, and Frogg Toggs has created a solid platform for intense physical activity with nice aesthetics and weather-friendly features; all at a reasonable price point.
