WHAT IS IT?
Daiwa Tournament D-FIN Swimbait Series
WHAT SETS IT APART?
First introduced in 2024, the Tournament D-FIN selection broadens with the addition of 3-, 4- and 5-inch versions to match the growth sizes of baitfish throughout a given season.
An oversized paddle tail and narrow body create a distinct rock and roll action that strategically catches light, causing the glitter-infused plastic to flash and reflect from all angles. Fish attractant infused into the body adds more strike appeal.
HOW DO I USE IT?
The reduced profile expands the productivity of the bait for finesse fishing, while matching the sizes of prevailing baitfish on any given lake.
The paddle tail maintains its signature wobble at slow roll or medium and fast retrieves, along with producing more sonic vibrations than typical swimbaits. The benefit is calling out the bait’s presence to a wider strike zone. The bait tracks straight rigged weightless, on a weighted swimbait hook and with a jig.
The D-FIN also prevents the common angling headache of color bleeding. Because the base plastic formulation is color-neutral, different colorways can be stored together without staining or tinting one another.
Seven natural patterns with UV treatment: Lime Pearl, UV Flake Pearl, Green Pearl, Rainbow Shad, Pepper Ghost, Motor Oil Ayu, and Smoke Shad.
HOW MUCH?
$8.99 (3-inch/10 per pack, 4-inch/7 per pack, and 5-inch/5 per pack)

ANGLER’S INSIGHT:
The swimbait sphere of choices has expanded exponentially with the exploding popularity of forward-facing sonar. Minnows come in all shapes and sizes, and those offering any subtle differentiations in action stand out as bass grow jaded with the same look.
The expanded D-FIN lineup checks off all the boxes with its exceptional swimming action, regardless of speed or rigging. One size does not fit all in the minnow world, and the D-FIN enables us to expand its use to finesse applications for pressured fish, which is the new world in which we live.
