Gear Review: Fitzgerald Stunner HD Rod Series

WHAT IS IT?

Fitzgerald Stunner HD Rod Series

WHAT SETS IT APART?

The Stunner HD Series by Fitzgerald Fishing made a splash last year when Bryan New used one of the models to win the Bassmaster Elite Series on the St. Johns River. While New kept it straightforward with lipless baits and pad flipping, this rod line offers a set of versatile tools designed to handle a wide range of techniques and applications. Designed for lightweight, well-balanced performance, the rods promote all-day comfort that eliminates the fatigue that impedes performance.

HOW DO I USE IT?

Fitzgerald’s Stunner line includes six casting models and two spinning, each made from a blank comprising proprietary 40-ton graphite for optimal strength and sensitivity balance. The 316 stainless steel framed American Tackle Microwave guides promote long, smooth casts, while the saltwater-gauge stainless steel frames and braid-proof Duralite HD rings offer ensure durability and weight reduction. Fitzgerald also equips each Stunner HD rod with American Tackle tangle-free tips with ring lock technology, which reduces ring popping.
