Swindle swings into action Day 2

Follow along with Gerald Swindle as he takes on Day 2 of the 2022 Simms Bassmaster Elite at Lake Fork!

Bassmaster has some incredible guys on the Elite Tour; but sometimes there are conflicts. Gerald Swindle and DiPalma got into a bit of a disagreement this morning right off the bat. What was said is unclear, however it seems that they worked it out. Both fished the same area for most of the morning. By 10:30am, G-Man had a limit for around 19 pounds, while DiPalma only had 2 keepers; and both of those were smaller fish.
Swindle caught several 3-4 pounders on the heavy drop shot rig.
When you have 20-30mph winds, so many problems can arrive. Swindle lowered his trolling motor as far as it would go in attempt to keep the blade in the water. Spot lock is great until the prop can’t do its job.
The boat banging against the waves also knocked his electronics out a few times.
Anytime Bassmaster is in town, there are spectators. They are always welcome. The folks that followed Swindle this morning found out real quick that the weather conditions were more than they could handle.
Swindle started out the morning using a dropshot rig; but it was not your typical dropshot. Due to high winds, he had to use a 1/2 to 3/4 oz tungsten wait just to keep the bait on the bottom. He was slow dragging it along the bottom. Felling the bite was the most difficult part.
Getting the bass in the boat was another problem that Swindle had with the high wind .
Back to the big worm
Nobody kows what Swindle calls this move or stretch; but it seems to be working.
Some people think that professional fishing is easy and fun and that’s it. Well, it is fun; but it is not easy. Just ask Swindle how fishing for so many years has affected his body. He has had at least 6 back surgeries, a multitude of shoulder scopes, and several other things like epidurals. No matter what pains he has, he keep on trucking through it.
