Robertson and Card battle it out on Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at Lake Oahe, here in South Dakota.
We caught up with the day one leader, Brandon Card, first thing. He is having a slower morning than yesterday.
Card is back on the same trusted spot where he caught all his fish yesterday.
Card is having a slower morning today, but continues to spot fish on the graph keeping him confident in this spot.
The morning is extremely windy with high rolling waves coming across the river. This makes everything more a challenge.
This trusted spot covers a large area, so other anglers are also in eye sight panning around.
Matt Robertson is also fishing close by in this area, using his graphs to locate fish.
At about mid morning, we see the first hook up of the day by Matt Robertson.
After a long fight, he has the fish boatside.
And Robertson is on the board for today.
And almost immediately, Card finds his first on of the day as well.
And a respectable size fish is in the boat.
Back-to-back. Card instantly finds another one.
But this one isn’t going to be so easy…
Upon getting the fish up towards the boat, the fish makes a sptint right into the trolling motor.
Card lifts the motor up to try and untagle it.
But isn’t having any luck.
The fish is still on, but the line is wrapped too much to get it free. So, Card is forced to set the rod down and handline this fish in.
No trolling motor combined with strong winds and current, Card drifts right by Robertson as he wrestles with this smallmouth.
A messy situation and an impressive recovery, Card finally lands the fish in the boat.
And it will help his cause.
The fish are fired up. Robertson is hooked up on another.
A good fish and it’s headed to the livewell.
And one after another, the fish just keep biting for Card and Robertson.
Not a giant, but it helps. Card is well on his way to a limit and continues to defend his first place position.
After some time passing, we decided to head out and beat the rough waters. Only a couple more hours of fishing left, and both these anglers are going strong. Keep up with all the action at the 2022 Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at Lake Oahe.
