Prince’s morning on Lake Fork

Catch up with Day 1 Leader Cliff Prince as he takes on the second day of the 2022 Simms Bassmaster Elite at Lake Fork!

Cliff Prince came out of nowhere on Day 1 of the Simms Bassmaster Elite at Lake Fork to take the lead with 32-5.
Early on Day 2 we found Prince in the back end of a creek.
The Prince of Palatka set up shop on a wind blown point and was able to find a group of fish that were biting.
As soon as we arrived, Prince hooks up with his first keeper of the morning.
The very next cast, he hooks up again.
While this size fish likely won’t cut it to get to the weight he caught yesterday, it definitely helps to get a few early bites for confidence.
Just moments later, Prince hooks up again on the wind blown point. Getting a few bites turned into a full-on flurry.
Once again, another solid fish to start the morning.
Prince takes a pause from the action to make a small bait adjustment.
At this point in the morning, it becomes apparent that Prince has landed on a shad spawn. Multiple birds were in the area, and the shad were visibily flickering near the bank.
After working the point over, Prince fishes down the bank a little ways, then decides to come back to the point.
Once he let the point rest for a little while, Prince decides to pull out a couple rods and slow down and drag a Carolina rig over the point.
On his second cast with the Carolina Rig, he hooks up with a good one.
Prince hooks up again on the very next cast. This technique change paid off huge for the Florida pro.
Once the fish became conditioned to the Carolina rig, Prince continues to make bait changes. Almost any time he would throw a different bait in there, he was able to get an additional bite or two.
Unfortunately, Prince loses a nice fish right at the boat.
He fired back in there and hooks up just a few casts later.
After fishing the point small area for just over two hours, Prince decided to make a short move. Later in the day he plans on making a move out deep.
