We pulled up to Palaniuk as he was making a quick move to a different spot. A quick move he will NOT regret.
Palaniuk gets to his spot and pulls out a top water rig and begins to throw along a rock wall.
With no luck on the rock wall, he continues to troll down the cove and battle out the rain.
Once he gets a ways into the cove, he finds the bite!
And it’s a Mississippi river stud.
This fish is a cull for Palaniuk and actually puts him close to the top ten area on BASSTrakk. Palaniuk came into today with mission and is making up ground like it’s nothing.
Culled up and a retie and it’s back to fishing.
A short distance down the cove, Palaniuk finds a honey hole. I’ll just let you sit back and watch the action…
Not sure if it would have helped, but Palaniuk makes the mistake of last second boat flipping this fish. As you’ll see, it ends up getting away.
But, he doesn’t let hit shake him. He stands up and immediately throws back in.
8+ fish throwing on one spot. How’s that for a honey hole?
Palaniuk decides to give this spot a break and keep trolling down the cove.
He is swapping between a few different baits depending on the terrain, but keeping the top water in his hand for the majority of the time.
One more fish catch before we leave him for the day… Only a few feet away from his flurry spot.
Palaniuk continues to fish down this cove, and who would blame him!? See how it all pans out for the AOY trophy this afternoon on semifinal Saturday.
