Lester lands ’em early

See Brandon Lester land 'em early Day 1 of the 2022 Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at Mississippi River!

Coming into the Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at Mississippi River, Brandon Lester is sitting just 37 points behind the Progressive Angler of the Year leader Brandon Palaniuk. Lester needs a little fortune and a good tournament to have a chance at taking the AOY title, but there’s still a chance.
After making a relatively short run, Lester sets up shop on a shallow flat. He was accompanied by Falcon Rods Rookie of the Year leader Jay Przekurat.
After settling into the area, Lester hooks up with his first keeper of the day.
A solid start for the Tennessee pro.
Just a few moments later, Josh Stracner joins the party.
Less than 10 minutes later, Lester hooks up again.
Lester got on little flurries where he would catch several in a row. Some were keepers, and some were not.
Lester even boated a nice smallmouth.
All three anglers moved around the flat, but Lester stayed put in one smaller area of the flat.
After making the switch back to the spinning rod, Lester hooks up again.
Rotating through a variety of baits seemed to be a key for Lester.
After measuring this one, Lester officially has a limit in the boat!
After sitting in one small portion of the flat for quite a while, Lester makes a push up shallow.
Eventually, Lester would move on to another area just around the corner.
Once Lester arrived to his second spot, it was an all out catch-fest. However, the majority of the fish were non keepers.
After boating several fish on consecutive casts, Lester hooks up with a cull fish.
Lester makes the cull, and makes a move down river shortly after.
