Iaconelli’s still soaked with a passion for fishing

Bass Fishing Hall of Famer, Mike Iaconelli will be the first to tell you Top 10 finishes for him aren’t nearly as easy to come by as they used to be, but don’t think for a second it’s because he’s not passionate anymore.
When B.A.S.S. wisely decided to postpone Day 1 at the Harris Chain due to threatening storms and wind – well, you guessed it – “Ike” jumped in his Tundra and drove 80 miles to Tampa Bay to go fishing with the young men from well-known social media platform called “Uncle Larry Outdoors.”
Ike grabbed a sack full of McDonalds and headed to meet the fellas in a city park parking lot near Tampa Bay. But first, he had to power up with big signature series rod from Berkley, because the promise of exceptionally big largemouth awaited.
Ike was very much at home walking down a highly trafficked road to chase trophy fish with Kai Richards of Uncle Larry’s Outdoors.
10-minutes into the day, with storms already threatening, Iaconelli catches a beast on a vibrating jig.
Storms continue to threaten the day, so “Ike” hurries to change lures in pursuit of one more bite.
Ike stops quickly for a photo with his former employee “Eric the Intern” who is now one of the three amigos running Uncle Larry Outdoors.
No more photo fish were to be had in the 90 minutes of fishing, but a rain-soaked shirt was. “Ike” climbs back in his Toyota Tundra laughing out loud with joy for a day well spent.
