Dean Rojas has caught some fish on a frog this week, just not the Spro frog most recognize him for. It's a soft plastic Big Bite Baits Fightin' Frog that has produced some key bites for him. It's actually a crawfish imitation. He's been casting and pitching it on 20-pound Sunline Sniper with a quarter-ounce weight paired with a 3/0 Gamakatsu hook.
When Rojas finds a spawning bed, he switches to another lure he designed for Big Bite Baits, a Warmouth. It's a sunfish imitation, and green sunfish has been the best color this week, by far. He throws it on 22-pound Sunline Shooter with either a 5/8ths or 3/16ths ounce weight and and a 4/0 Gamakatsu hook.
Rojas in in full predator mode now, perched on the front of his boat, barely moving, almost like a great blue heron looking at a meal.
