Davy Hite is in full stealth mode with revenge on his mind. Everyone in this tournament has a one-that-got-away story. That's just part of fishing. But Hite has caught the male off this particular spawning bed four times in two days, including three times on Friday. The male is with a 6- to 7-pound female, that Hite thought he had securely hooked with five minutes left on Friday. But it came off, sending Hite back to the weigh-in with only 14 pounds that day. Without that big girl in the box, Hite weighed a 2-pounder.
Hite thinks using a push-pole rather than his trolling motor in these situations is critical.
