Chris Zaldain's final words after weighing-in Friday were: "I'm just hoping for a weather change – wind, just something different to happen."
It appears Zaldain's wish has been granted. There's a south wind blowing at 8 miles per hour with some stronger gusts. It's predicted to remain that way all day, increasing slightly and shifting to the south/southwest at noon. That might be enough to take some of the spookiness out of the spawning bass, which have been notoriously difficult to coax a bite from this week.
Zaldain mentioned that the bites he got on reaction baits on Day 1 weren't there on Day 2. Any kind of ripple on the water should help. There was barely a breeze Friday.
