Jacob Wheeler hasn’t caught anything over 3 pounds yet, but he’s definitely keeping it interesting.
“I’ve never seen a guy catch so many fish,” said on-the-water correspondent Gettys Brannon. “He caught two doubles in a row. He’s catching white bass, catfish. It’s incredible.”
You’ve seen some of Wheeler’s self-described “hodge-podge pattern” today. He’s got over a dozen rods on the deck and he’s fishing depths ranging from a foot to 40-plus feet. “I caught one at 47 feet (yesterday),” Wheeler said. “That’s deep.”
But Wheeler hasn’t gone to the one pattern he has for catching bigger bass. “I’ve got one deal that I’ve found that’s 90 percent big ones,” he said. “It’s just an understanding what’s going on.”
