The West Virginia team of Nolan Minor and Casey Lanier had a fun start to the day. They caught 40 spotted bass in the first couple hours, on every cast they told us. The total for their five fish limit is
between 11 and 12 pounds now. “We can catch 12 to 15 inchers all day long, but we need some 18 inchers now.”
Their Day 1 total of 13 pounds, 13 ounces had them sitting in 4th place when today began.
