Kyle Welcher knew a bunch of guys were catching bass on wacky-rigged worms pitched around boat docks this week. But he simply hadn’t been able to make that work for him, until just now. Welcher put the swimbait down and caught two keepers on a wacky-rigged worm in 10 minutes. Both were 2-pounders, but they allowed him to cull twice. He’s within striking distance of the lead and, more importantly, feeling comfortable.
“This bait will catch big ol’ stupid ones, too,” Welcher said, as he held up a 2-plus-pounder.
