Water went from 5 feet to 12 feet

This morning Steve Bowman and I are at a well known community hole where we expected to find 20 boats. That turned out not to be the case. For 30 minutes Scott Canterbury was the only angler here. Austin Felix showed up a few minutes ago.

“It was crowded here during practice,” said Canterbury. “Everybody was catching fish. But the water was 5 feet deep then. Now it’s 12.”

Neither Canterbury or Felix has had a bite here and both headed off to other venues. There’s no doubt that all the rain and the heavy current is causing the anglers to change their strategies.
