Patrick Walters lead Day 1 with 21 pounds, 4 ounces of Florida bass. His magic yesterday happened in the second half of the day after a slow morning. He launched in the last flight this morning so doesn’t have to check in until 4:30 today.
Walters had an eventful 2019, finishing his rookie season 16th in the Elite Series AOY points race, and getting married last fall. The South Carolina native started the Elites strong last year, leading AOY for several tournaments.
Which leads me to wondering on this fine Florida morning, is Patrick Walters a strong starter? Does he typically start the season strong? We’ll find out over the next two days.
