Uh, yeah, it’s easy

Keith Combs’ prediction for this tournament, “Everybody will have five fish, and they’ll come easy,” appears right on the button. At 11 a.m. today, BASSTrakk showed 61 of the 109 anglers with five-bass limits already. And we can assume there are several more. The limited cell phone service in this area has almost certainly kept some anglers at zero on the BASSTrakk leaderboard this morning.

For instance, we know Todd Faircloth has at least three keepers because blogger/photographer Thomas Allen has witnessed the catches. But Faircloth is sporting a zero on BASSTrakk, due only to technical difficulties.

Which brings up an interesting point: The worst cell phone coverage we’ve had over the past two seasons has been at Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn – maybe the two best bass fishing lakes in the U.S. right now. So if you want the bass fishing to improve in your area, you might want to start chopping down the cell phone towers. That’s a joke, for those immune to sarcasm.
