Two inches makes big difference

There was a 14-inch minimum length limit for the 2013 and 2015 Elite Series tournaments on the Sabine River. This time it’s 12 inches. And those two inches have made a whale of a difference.

In 2013, only 8 of the top 50 anglers after two days caught 5-bass limits each day, and 50th place was 10-0. Rick Morris made the cut with only three keepers that weighed 10-5.

In 2015, only 10 of the top 50 after two days caught limits both days, and 50th place was 12-0. Skeet Reese was 50th after catching 12 pounds on Day 1 and zeroing on Day 2.

This year, 47 of the top 50 caught limits both days, and 50th place was 15-11.
