Today could be even better

It’s hard to imagine a better day on Lake Travis than Day 1 of Texas Fest, when 91 of 108 anglers weighed limits, including bags of 21-15 and 21-2 and a big bass of 10-5. But Day 2 has the potential to be just that.

“Anytime you have clear water, and it’s super hot, wind is good, especially if it’s sunny,” said Brandon Palaniuk, who is tied for 10th place with Steve Kennedy at 15-13. “The wind picked up in the afternoon (yesterday), and in the last hour I think I upgraded four times. The wind is your friend, especially on this lake.”

The forecast calls for south winds of 10 to 20 miles per hour today, with near record temperatures in the high 90s.
