T-Roy’s game plan

T-Roy Broussard spends a lot of time hunting alligators. This week the Swamp People star is hunting down bass.

“I had a good practice and there is a home court advantage here,” he told me this morning.

If anybody has a home court advantage it’s Broussard. He’s lived and worked in the swamp all his life.

There is a downside too, and Broussard isn’t happy about it.

“There have been some guys showing where I am fishing.”

Making a living in an unforgiving environment like a swamp means living a hard life. And making the most of it when things don’t go as panned.

“I have some places they don’t know and will be going there today,” he continued. “If I make the cut there are more places I have tucked away.”

“There is one area I could go and put it away for the win.”

Broussard’s goal is catching 14-16 pounds on Day 1 and 2. The glory hole, he said, could produce close to 20 pounds.

That’s a good strategy here, since much can change at any given moment on this tidal fishery.

“The tide is going to be later every day, and that should make the fishing better,” he added. “Once the tide comes in the bite is over.”
