Surprise for Zaldain

After running all the way to the back of Bennet’s Bayou, hitting every outside channel swing, we are back at the mouth of the bayou where Zaldain began. Interestingly enough, Skeet Reese is already there.

The two fish up to each other. Exchange guesses on their weights, where Zaldain has a heart-stopping moment.

Skeet tells him he has 16 pounds and you could almost see the “holy crap” look wash over Zaldain’s face.

He quickly said “nah, just kidding.”

The two parted ways. Skeet heading to parts unknown and Zaldain staying on the bluff bank.

This has been the windiest we’ve seen it and the bank has plenty of ripples. All morning Zaldain said if the wind would pick up his fishing would get better. This bank could prove him right or wrong.

For the record, Zaldain told Skeet he had about 13 pounds. I’m calling heavier than that by a pound.
