I’m just now getting here. I’ve hooked up with Troy Broussard, one of B.A.S.S.’s top Opens angler. He’s also best known as one of the characters on Swamp People.
He knows this area better than most. So we signed him up as a guide for a couple days. At least until he heads to practice for next week’s Open on the Red River.
Our first stop is on Gerald Spohrer, who is in his second year on the Elites. Spohrer is no stranger to these shallow, muddy swampy places.
Right now, though, he’s sitting on a goose egg. But it’s early. Who else is in this area remains to be seen. But I’ve heard a few motors running around behind the cane patches.
