Sabine Day 2 results are familiar

This marks the Bassmaster Elite Series’ fourth visit to the Sabine River since 2013. In comparing the previous tournaments’ Day 2 results, this event is playing out just like you’d expect. For instance, the past two winners had 28 pounds and were in first place on Day 2 – Greg Hackney, 28-2, in 2018, when he won the four-day event with 48-5;  and Chris Lane, 28-7, in 2015, when his four-day total was 50-0. Jason Christie moved into first place yesterday with a two-day total of 28-15.

This isn’t meant to be a prediction of a Christie victory. Brock Mosley and others will have something to say about that. It’s just a note about previous Sabine River tournaments.

Todd Faircloth was in first place after two days here in 2013, and he’d eventually win with a total of 49-6. However, he had to overcome a 3-pound, 9-ounce deficit to Dean Rojas to win on the final day.
