Powroznik has “about 22-something”

Jacob Powroznik just caught his fifth keeper, a smallmouth weighing about 3 3/4 pounds. I asked him how much total weight he had now. He said, "I've got two 5 1/2s, a 5, and two 3 3/4s."

So I got to adding that up and told Powroznik that I got 23 1/2 pounds.

"I've probably got 22-something," he said.

Powroznik then pulled his two biggest smallmouth from his livewell and said, "I don't know what these fish weigh. It could be five pounds, it might be six."

They looked every bit of 5 pounds to me.

Cliff Crochet just moved into this area. He's fish-less, and he and Powroznik are buddies. Crochet trolled over so Powroznik could give him some baits. It's almost like Crochet is Powroznik's co-angler at this point, which is something they've had a good laugh about.

"It's fixing to get right in here," Powroznik said, in all seriousness. "You just watch."
