Clifford Pirch lives in Payson, Ariz., and spends much of his offseason archery hunting for elk in the public lands of central and eastern Arizona. He’s on an “archery hunting” adventure this week at the Harris Chain. Pirch loves sight-fishing for bedding bass. That’s how he caught the 9-pound, 13-ounce bass yesterday that propelled him into today’s top 10.
Pirch stuck one this morning just before 9 a.m. It went into BassTrakk as a 6-pound, 3-ounce bass, but it looked heavier than that. But the 9-13 yesterday looked bigger than that too. We’ll see. But the main point here is that Pirch is having fun.
“This is my favorite kind of fishing,” Pirch said on “Bassmaster LIVE.” “It’s like archery hunting. You see it all happening. Your heart starts pounding. This is going to be so much fun today. This is like DisneyWorld when this happens.”
