Brandon Palaniuk caught his fourth bass today off the base of a cypress tree. But he’s primarily been punching matted vegetation with a big weight.
“Nothing like catching one on a cypress tree with an ounce-and-a-quarter weight,” said Palaniuk, before going to a heavier weight and punching mats again. “The wind is tightening up the mats, so I’m stepping it up to an ounce-and-a-half. But the bigger the weight you go, the less chance you have of getting a good hookset because you’re putting so much weight in front of that hook point.”
