Palaniuk has 20-plus?

Brandon Palaniuk may well be an example of why the current BASSTrakk leaderboard and the official leaderboard after today’s weigh-in will be drastically different. It’s not about the weights that are on BASSTrakk now; they should be more accurate than ever before. It’s about the guys that still have zeroes by their names, because they’re out of cell service range.

Photographer Seigo Seito was shooting Brandon Palaniuk before noon today, when Palaniuk reported he had 22 pounds, including an 8-pounder. Plus he still had a 2-pounder in his five-bass limit, one he could have easily culled in the afternoon hours. I guess Palaniuk could have been pulling Seigo’s leg, but it wouldn’t be characteristic of him.

That’s just one example. There’s sure to be many more when the weights become official based on the scorecards compiled from each angler today.
