Brandon Lester has been on the shortlist of best pros without a win in his career. He took his name off that list with a win at the Kissimmee Chain two weeks ago in the first St. Croix Bassmaster Southern Open of the season. Lester’s Florida success is something we need to take a look at because the Tennessean has a strong resume in the Sunshine State.
Lester’s last 10 Bassmaster events in Florida are staggering. He has been inside the Top 35 in every event, including this week as he was the Day 1 leader with 23 pounds. Those finishes come on the St. Johns River, Kissimmee Chain of Lakes, Lake Okeechobee and this week’s venue, the Harris Chain.
In those 10 events he has a win, 3 Top 5’s, 6 Top 15’s and a cut check with every visit. Keep an eye on Lester today. Even though he hasn’t logged a bass yet, I’d expect something strong from Lester at some point on Day 2.
