Mosley’s tough decision pays off

Brock Mosley insisted yesterday that he wouldn’t be making the 100-plus-mile run along the inter-coastal waterway to Houston today, even though it had produced his tournament-leading total of 15-10 on Day 1. He didn’t think the wind would allow it. And he was thinking the same thing when he woke up this morning.

“I was debating all night whether to come or not,” Mosley said on “Bassmaster LIVE” today. “It really wasn’t as bad as I expected coming over here.”

Yes, Mosley made the run, and it paid off quickly. He put a 10-pound five-bass limit in the boat in 40 minutes. It includes a 3 1/2-pounder. He estimates he’s got about 3 1/2 hours to fish and allow himself plenty of time to get back, even if the wind picks up.

“If they bite like they did yesterday, that’s plenty of time,” Mosley said. Apparently, they’re biting like they did yesterday.
