Appropriately, he is using the Midwest-born Ned Rig. He makes it with a 4-inch Z-Man Finesse T.R.D. stickbait on matching 1/15-ounce Z-Man Finesse ShroomZ jighead. Both components were intentionally designed by Z-Man to match the original rigs originating with angling icons Chuck Woods, Guido Hibdon and Charlie Brewer, the Tennessean who invented the Slider combo of flat jighead and straight worm.
MDJ is also using a drop shot. To make it he is using a 4-inch Z-Man Finesse WormZ, No. 1 Owner Cover Drop Shot Hook and 3/8-ounce tungsten weight.
