Bowman and I are now following Mark Daniels Junior who sits in 4th place with 23-12. We’ve seen him fish deep and we’ve seen him fish shallow. About a month ago Daniels made a visit to the world headquarters of B.A.S.S. in Birmingham where Thomas Allen and I did a podcast with him. I asked him how he’s liking the moniker MDJ, which fishing fans have embraced. He said he’s liking it. And he revealed in the Inside Bassmaster podcast that growing up in California his buddies called him M.A.D. which stands for Mark Anthony Daniels, his given name. I started thinking about which other guys are called by their initials. Of course there’s KVD. and then Kelly Jordan is sometimes called KJ. And then there are the rare individuals who have reached iconic status of just having one word names. What is Bowman’s first name anyway? Have Trip and Zona reached one name status too?
