Mark Daniels Jr. just landed a 14 ounce smallmouth and immediately afterwards caught a 1 pounder. He’s weighing his fish and tells us he has right at 7 pounds, 14 ounces, to be exact.
“I caught the little one, looked down at my Garmin and the next one was right there,” he said. “I’m dialed in on these 1 pounders,” he added with a smile.
Daniels is moving upstream now, about 200 yards. His strategy for the past two days has been to work his primary spot, depart for 30 minutes or more, then return to his honey hole. He did this multiple times on Sat. and Sun. If he’s not catching bass today he plans to search a wider area.
