A little goes a long way today

So far on Day 2 we haven’t seen any of those extraordinary Lake Martin bags, like we did yesterday when Cliff Prince had 19-13, Tahahiro Omori landed 18-2 and Mark Menendez had 17-9. In fact, Prince and Menendez are still two keepers each shy of a limit.

But a little goes a long way here. The best example of that is Andy Montgomery, who has the heaviest bag of the day at 2 p.m. of 14-14. It has vaulted him from 26th place on Day 1 to third place today with a total of 26-10, according to BASSTrakk.

There is time for some serious shifts in the standings. As Chris Zaldain noted yesterday, “All my good bites came after two o’clock.”

But time is running thin for those in the first flight, which has a 2:30 check-in time. The fourth and final flight checks-in at 3:30.
