Lefebre likely has more, but will take less

Dave Lefebre probably has more weight than the 14 pounds, 12 ounces BASSTrakk currently indicates. That’s from a reliable, but unofficial observer. The weight has him in contention for the lead, according to BASSTrakk. Even if Lefebre weighs less than 14-12 officially, he’ll be happy, based on his comments yesterday.

“I don’t expect to stay up there,” he said, after weighing his 7th-place bag of 18-4. “Seriously, with 11 pounds I’d be happy. I want to catch more but you can’t get cocky out there.

“I’ve never seen anything like it. When it shuts off, it’s like there’s not a fish out there. When it’s on, it’s like this is too much fun. You can’t take it for granted. You could zero so easy on this lake. I went three hours without a fish (Thursday).”

With Ross Barnett’s guaranteed daily ups-and-downs, it’s hard for any angler to get excited about having the lead on Day 2 of this four-day tournament.
