King and Laborde take 4th event of CBT season

The Caernarvon Bass Trail hosted its 4th event of the season on Saturday, July 11th. Unfavorable conditions were presented to the anglers with 100+ degree heat on tap, as well as severely low water due to the 3 days prior of continuous westerly winds. As has been the case all year, the 35 anglers who attended, making up 18 teams, far surpassed expectations when weigh-in time came around. Half of this incredibly competitive field of anglers produced 14+ lb. limits of fish.

The battle for the top spot was decided by mere ounces this month. Taking home third place was the team of Terry Jones and Jason Stevens with a limit of five bass weighing in at 17.10 lbs. Second place honors went to the Father/Son team of Jay Ladner and Randy Ladner with an impressive 17.44 lb. limit. Taking home the top spot as well as big fish for the event was the team of Fred King and Roy Laborde. They brought to the scales a 4.54 lb. lunker, as well as the day’s heaviest sack of fish tipping the scales at 17.74 lbs!

This has been a whirlwind of a 2020 season thus far with all the challenges we have faced, but we are looking forward to completing the regular season’s 5th event on August 1st. Thanks go out to all who came out to participate, as well as all of our sponsors. We are looking forward to our last event where we will crown Points Champions for the 2020 season and present them with the opportunity to represent the CBT against the entire nation in this year’s 2020 B.A.S.S Team Championship in Florida this December!
