For the second year in a row, Steve Kennedy is missing in action on his wedding anniversary. Today marks Steve and Julia Kennedy’s 21st anniversary. And just like last year, he’s catching smallmouth bass on Mille Lacs Lake, Minn., instead of celebrating with Julia in Auburn, Ala.
A year ago, Kennedy finished 15th at Mille Lacs with 62-9. That’s when he remarked about the incredible smallmouth bass fishing here, “I missed my 20th wedding anniversary and my son’s sixth birthday. And it was worth it.”
If you know Julia Kennedy, you know that comment brought a smile, rather than a frown, to her face. By the way, Kennedy was home for son Steve Jr.’s (a.k.a, SJ) seventh birthday this year on Sept. 7, before leaving for Mille Lacs.
