Steve Kennedy may have already today caught the biggest bag of the Elite Series tournaments on the Sabine River. BASSTrakk shows him with 15-3 on the day, but Steve Bowman reports Kennedy may have a couple pounds more than that, and he recently lost what would have been another upgrade.
Todd Faircloth’s 16-8 on Day 2 in 2013 is the current leader in that department, followed by Greg Hackney’s 16-3 yesterday.
If Kennedy does have that much weight, he might be leading this tournament, although the other two contenders – Greg Hackney and Skeet Reese – are noted BASSTrakk sand-baggers.
It will make for an interesting weigh-in. Kennedy started the day in 65th place with 7-5. He attributes his success today with downsizing the lure he’s using.
