BASSTrakk shows Carl Jocumsen in fourth place with 7 pounds, 5 ounces. What’s not on the scorecard is the 5-pounder that he lost at the boat.
Junk fishing might be the name of the game, but Jocumsen is doing something different. He is fishing with confidence on a lake that has been good to him. And he’s using a confidence bait that won him a Bassmaster Elite Series trophy last year, also during the fall.
That lure is the 3/4-ouncer Molix Tungsten Football Jig, which he helped design.
“I’m focusing on very isolated spots where the bass are using as transition points moving into shallow water.”
That’s a textbook approach that could pave the way for another good finish for Jocumsen on Lake Guntersville.
