In both matchups this afternoon, one angler is fishing shallow and his opponent is fishing deep. Dave Lefebre is sticking to one of his favorite techniques – skipping a jig under boat docks, and he caught the first bass of the afternoon, a 1-15 largemouth. He just landed a 2-6.
His opponent, Kelley Jaye, is throwing a jerkbait in deep water. He knew he was going to have to wade through some northern pike, and he caught three before he landed a keeper largemouth.
Powroznik and Kennedy aren’t throwing the same lures as the other two anglers, but Poweroznik is shallow and Kennedy is deep. It will be an interesting pattern to follow over the afternoon session, which ends at 3:30.
