Slow day for Taku Ito so far. The Elite Series Pro has three fish in his Skeeter livewells that go somewhere in the neighborhood of five pounds.
After working through a crankbait and an occasional jerkbait this earlier this morning, Ito has locked a dropshot in his hands and has been working with through shallow areas with hard bottoms. While he did land one keeper bite on the crankbait earlier today, he has landed two of his three keepers on the dropshot and culled through a number of non-keepers.
Ito has shown a great deal of patience today. Following a tough practice and the postponement of Day 1 of the event, the Elite Series Pro knows that to survive this week, it’s going to be a marathon and not a sprint.
