Is it finally starting to happen?

It’s been agonizingly slow for most of the 50 anglers competing today. But two big bass right at 1:20 p.m. might be a signal that things are changing.

For tournament leader Greg Hackney it was a 3-plus-pounder, which he called a 2 1/2. It allowed him to expand the 4 1/2-pound lead Hackney began the day with. It’s up to 6 1/4 pounds, according to BASSTrakk.

And Gerald Swindle has vaulted into the middle of the Top 12 with a 6-pounder, which would be the second biggest bass of the tournament.
