Shane LeHew landed a huge bass on Lake Fork. Okay it was only 2 pounds, 11 ounces but it was indeed a huge fish for LeHew's season and event this week.
LeHew fell victim to the goose egg on Day 1, which results in zero Angler of the Year points. LeHew fell from 38th to 53rd in AOY and found himself roughly 40 points from Classic contention. He has overcome half the battle today. With his first fish of the event he guaranteed himself 16 points even for last place. He's up to 81st on BASSTrakk which would give him 20 points if the tournament ended right now. If LeHew can put enough weight in the boat to move up to the 50's or even 60th, he could see his Classic goal come back into view.
LeHew zeroed on Day 1 at Chickamauga as well. It has been a trying final two events of the season, but his goals are still attainable even on Day 2 at Lake Fork.
