Dale Hightower is not fishing at the Sabine River this week. He’s having surgery this morning. If all goes well he plans to be back competing at Lake Fork later this month. If you notice Hightower in the standings this week that’s because he’s still officially on the Elite Series, but he won’t be showing any fish caught or any points for Sabine. Below is Dale’s Facebook post from earlier this week.
“This is a hard post for me to write but I feel it’s Important for all my supporters to know. I will be missing the Bassmaster Elite Series event on the Sabine this week. Unfortunately, I have a heart blockage and will be undergoing a procedure to unblock it on Thursday morning. To all of my sponsors, friends and followers that I won’t be able to compete and represent you this week, but hopefully, Lord willing, I will be back healthy and ready to go at Lake Fork. Good luck to all my Xpress Boats Teammates and fellow anglers this week! I will update you after the procedure, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your prayers and support!”
