With his third keeper Jamie Hartman moved back into the lead on BassTrakk; he’s in 3rd now with 3 fish and 10-2. Since then he has moved about a quarter mile and is bed fishing in a quiet little pocket with his Power-Poles down. He has caught two little dinks in here, non-keepers.
It’s impressive to me that this New York state native, with a reputation as a good smallmouth angler, is leading an Elite event on Toledo Bend. This is his rookie season in the Elite Series, but Hartman did fish on the FLW series, and he started the year strong with a second place finish at Cherokee, catching smallmouth there. Hartman talked this week about being upset with his 84th place finish at Okeechobee. He’s certainly exacting some revenge so far this week.
