Greg Hackney couldn’t be more comfortable anywhere than where he is right now – in shallow water off the St. Johns River, flipping largemouth bass in the boat while rain pours down. Hackney caught two in a row in about 10 inches of water. They totaled five pounds according to BassTrakk.
“I like that,” said Hackney. “I’ll cover the floor in Junebug (Strike King) Rage Bugs today.”
And a flipping stick isn’t likely to leave his hands. Hackney moved up from 19th on Day 1 to 3rd place yesterday with a 22-pound, 10-ounce limit. He is definitely one to watch today.
